Scenes From The 2011 Annual Conference

The annual Fall conference of the Autism Society of West Virginia was held September 16 and 17, 2011, in Bridgeport, WV. More than 100 attendees participated in workshops and presentations themed on working together to better serve and support the community of those on the autism spectrum. 

Scott Badesch, President and COO of the national Autism Society opened the conference with an inspiring speech about building communities of support.

Erin Lash co-presented a workshop on supporting students with ASD who have been victims of bullying behavior in the public schools.

Andrew Nelsen presented information about ASD and the social culture in middle schools

Dr. Peter Gerhardt conducts a workshop on evidence-based supports for adults with ASD.

Members of ASWV's Panel Of Individuals On The Spectrum provide insight into how they experience the transition into adulthood.

Other highlights included an overview of ASD-specific services in West Virginia andworkshop on Discrete Trial Instruction.
