Safety For Charity Donates To ASWV

ASWV gives a big shout out to Safety for Charity, a program carried out by the Consol Energy Robinson Run Mine in Mannington, West Virginia!

In mid-November, Superintendent Mike Smith contacted ASWV to inform us of our selection as the beneficiary of their quarterly donation of $1500.00

ASWV President Chris Fair traveled to Mannington and met with all the miners just before the beginning of their midnight shift.

In addition to thanking them, Mrs. Fair took the opportunity to discuss the prevalence of autism spectrum disorders and the benefits of having a statewide society.

Mrs. Fair discussed the history of autism-specific services in West Virginia, the West Virginia Autism Training Center, and the efforts of Dr. Ruth C. Sullivan to miners just after they completed their shift instruction.

The Autism Society of West Virginia must connect with community-based business and communities to be effective and maintain relevance. With sincere appreciation we thank the miners of Robinson Run Mine for their thoughtful contribution to our society. We promise to use it to improve the lives of West Virginians.
